A concept album?.. and I am all ears, Shogun Kunitoki does that!
There is a video.. how they made a strobe light for
vinyl? .. but! I really do care.. (but I do!), this really get's me.. like Sigur Ros "get's me" and "Add n to(X) gets me, and early heavy metal "get's me" this is fantastic..
watch the videos..and hear the songs.. Superb! I SOOO ADORE THIS BAND ..
it leaves me in a cold sweat.. and i hanker.. yes I do, hanker! I am "absolved" of any sin.. I truly am... ohh heavenly father... " I fucked up I love it"
And God help my soul.
This blog puts it better than me.. I'm in a state of joy.. this must be the
best thing I have heard this year! see more here..
Shogun Kunitoki - Nebulus
Shogun Kunitoki - Riddarholmen
Shogun Kunitoki - Mulberg
This is from a new sampler from Scion. It is
a great sampler, but, by far this is the best track on there.
easy lounge electronica for those of you with a dodgy heart.
This reminds me of listening to records in a dark room.. just
beyond the "Chill out" room.. (i gave up dancing in 1999)..
and talking .. whilst chewing off my inner jaw. Mike Post
would be proud.
Eli Escobar - Oslo.
Nice.. very nice! Out now on Turbo Recordings.
totally loopy.. and a grower.. Talk to me baby.. ohh yeah talk to me.
Be bonkers not to check em out here. A classic .. I really do think so.
Hey Today - Talk to Me (Minimix)
Ohhh joy!!! I am not a rap.. or even a Hip Hop fan,
But anyone that samples the Taxi theme tune, is alright by me..
The Bob James original was a classic, and for some reason filled me
with remorse, and melancholy (best I see my therapist).. ANYWAY!
this is a great song.. and takes this sample, mashes it,
and treats it with the most respect.
I could get to like more of this.. if only my Hip Hop tastes stops and
begins from Gang Starr, and Grandmaster Flash. I will get there in the end..
"Taxi for Eddie Spex"
Souls Of Mischief - Cab Fare
Spring does come in baskets full of soul.. if you missed
Sharon Jones last time around then, shame on you! Fantastic
Philly type music for people that dont know their STAX from
their Detroit motors. great single, and a video of 100 days, 100 nights.. below..
I really love this a lot :) check em out here.
Sharon Jones and The Dap - Kings - I learned the hard way
This is a sweet track, echoes of Stereolab, and Broadcast, are obvious.
Apparently he is from Singapore, and has an E.P out now.. sounds all
dandy to me.. and this genre is called "Yéyé" .. well you live and learn. This reminds
me of summer days, and watching 1960's movies, whilst eating wagon wheels. thanks
by the way, to Guy Poplin!! for the extra info.. here at Culture Bread.. we thank you.
webpage here. .. you can buy the E.P here.
POPLIN – “Une Debutante Au Jeu (featuring Bridget Low)”
Last Year I posted the video for the wonderful Playboys Bend,

Xavier Gazon from Playboys Bend, sent me a link for the song.
PB will be touring the U.S.A in April, try and track em down.
APRIL

I am saving my pennies to buy the lovetoys album :)
website here
Thanks Xavier for the heads up!
you can get the track here
And here is the video:
Earlier this month I posted a track by Blue Angel, which i just love.
And their management kindly sent me an email, about the new video for 43 Days.
It is a grand gesture, this video.. full of symbolism and a nice narrative.
Quite beautifully shot, and with no band members present on the video,
it gives itself an air of mystery.
enjoy this. Ohh and visit their myspace here
One of the things I like about writing this blog
is the mail that I get, I do get some absolute shocker's of tunes
that I would not wish on my worst enemy.. and there are times i get something
that just totally blows me away.. Now here is the rub.. I received a post from
Joensuu 1685, and all looks promising, write ups from NME.. a nice tour imminent..
The I play the song "Sick City" and feel deflated.. ohh no a grungy indie band!
but i am intrigued with the production.. very Phil Spector, on valium.. the song
grows on me.. so much so, that I play it again.. this time it reminds me.. of Spiritualised..nee; Spacemen 3,... So now I kinda get the song.. and I love it.
You can dig their scene here.

Joensuu 1685 - Sin City
This is for all you people that don't live in London.
There was a free music paper called The Daily Note, sponsored by
an energy drinks company, that showcased new bands, and and not so new.
It is a jolly good read.. It only came to my attention because an old
Culture Bread ally, Mr Timothy J Holland, sent me a copy that, had
an article on Dalston London, the home of Industrial Records.. even though
their research left a lot to be desired, there is a smashing pic, of
Genesis P Orridge's old front door .. with Psychic cross!
And all in all a a quick intro to the interesting area. You can get, the
whole of the issues from here in a Zip file. And I have been told by Mr Timothy
that issue 3 is really good. All about Psychedelic London! hoorah!
Grab the zip file.. it is interesting, because not all people just live in London
you know! oh and the Industrial records/Dalston piece is in issue 6.
I checked this band on the wonderful BBC4 "Britannia" series, the series in
question was .. heavy metal britannia.. fantastic stuff, apparently this band..
was heavy metal .. and this was 1967!! you gotta admire a band that says fuck off!
and before you ask.. yes i think they was better than the stooges, and/or Iron Butterfly.
Music and a video below.
Blue Cheer - Summertime Blues.
OOOH soo excited that I can finally post some
PTV on here without breaching their copyrite..
I am a huge PTV/TG fan and they do affect my life.. on
a daily basis.. sounds drastic, but they do.. I even have
a PTV cross on my front window! If like me you want to hear
some old choons with a mix added the here it is..ooh and
I got this from here.
enjoy :)
Psychic TV - Ov Power (SirBilly 23 Dub Edit).
This is a great fun mix.. though very low
on the recording levels (so turn up your volume)
But i really love this.. I actually got this from here.
Which looks like a nice blog, seems interesting..
nice spanking new tracks etc.
You can check out Kloseline here.
Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Theme) (Kloseline Club Remix)
This is nice, really dreamy stuff.. sounds like
a more friendly "Death In June" or a great Aphex twin ish
kinda thing.. anyway check em out here.. I kinda love em.
Dimlite - Elbow Flood
The Fall's 28th album is nigh.. "Our Future Your Clutter".
Does anyone own all 28?
sadly I only own 5..anyway this is as a stomper as usual!!

I am a Huge fan of anything Ghostbox.. and i mean anything/everything.
So I am very happy that I found this song on my blog searches.
Go and investigate Ghostbox records, all of it is great, if , like me
you love old "information films" and muzak from test cards. Then
you will adore this. Check out the Advisory Circle here. and Ghostbox
here. Ohh and I got this from here.
The Advisory Circle - Mind How You Go
This is bonkers.. if only I took drugs again.. then this would be on my Based up.. turntable!
This is relentless.. it keeps going and going, just like your fairy snow white powder.
It is from new label Grand Hotel, and they are doing a number of live nights to coincide
with each new release... check out the label's website here for more info.
Dirty Super Car - Get A Grip (the loops of fury remix)
Genesis"BREYER"P.Orridge, is making a movie and HE/SHE needs our help.

check out the project here.
The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye - Trailer from Marie Losier on Vimeo.
If you are in a band, and have either a demo, or a lovely
remix.. then contact me. I will endevour to post your work.
Please include a short bio, and a picture as well please.
I do get a few requests for inclusions to this site, and to be
honest not all are successful.. so if you are an 80's goth band
with no synths!! or are an indie guitar band, I will most probably
not post anything from you.. What I am interested in is.. Avant garde,
intelligent pop, and nasty dance tunes.
Eddies inbox is always open for you.
Eddie Spex.
I got this in my email about this new band, instead of me writing anything, this is
the press pack blurb I got in my inbox.
"Just a quick note to let you know about the forthcoming debut single '43 Days' by London based duo Blue Angel. Having met at Backstreet Studios on the Holloway Road, Bella and Jake bonded over mojitos and melodic musings before combining their shared paranoia of city life. With an album pencilled for an October release, the pair have decided to digitally release '43 Days' n May 3rd 2010 as the first taster of their labours.
'43 Days' was written in response to the recent spate of stabbings throughout the UK. When Jake read about a stabbing on his regular bus route, he immediately decided to put down his thoughts in response. The result is a haunting yet uplifting track of escapism. "
I actually like the Song that they have generously sent me.. On first listen it sounds like
Alice Nutter from "Chumbawamba" But no.. it is'nt, and
to be honest that would be doing this track an injustice! Anyway as always it is up to
you to decide.. I really love the production a lot!! download below. And hopefully we will hear
more from this outfit. You can contact their management at
jdw.publicrelations@googlemail.com And you can check em out here.
Blue Angel - 43 Days (Christopher Lee remix)
Now here is the thing.. who are they? bloody great videos tho.
head over here.. to try and work it out.. and btw, I don't know who
it is.. well not yet. If you think you know please tell us! Latest is that it is
Goldfrapp, or The knife. ummm.
Cannot find a pic of this band.. tho I am sure I have more stuff by them.
Anyway.. I will try and not post any more happy clapper type tracks, but so
far this morning, new music is a bit slow.. but this is pleasant enough..
but dont expect to break out into a sweat!
For all you more hardened esoteric types out there, I will be
doing a NEO/folk / Industrial month soon.. but compiling it
is an absolute nightmare, copyrite wise, as most of the bands
I adore, dont do mixes.. this will be work in progress.
In the meantime, get on ya Miami shades, and cruise down
Barking high street in ya convertable Skoda.
G.L.O.V.E.S - PYX ( Golden Bug remix)
This is not the usual music post, but i am inspired "I really am"
with two design blogs.. one is called Emma's design blog.
She is a huge fan of big white spaces, and includes soo many
pictures, there is always inspiration, and a lust for design.
The second blog is called The Selby, and this blog is invaluable,
it was set up to showcase artist's homes, so more than not, there
is no big white spaces, just a collection of the most inspiring homes
I have ever seen, for instance check ot "The George pub" section
just quite wonderful... I suppose the main reason I am posting this as well
is that I am in the process, of stripping away all my bland painted walls
to reveal the plaster, (and what is underneath) to all it's glory.. I think
this is a great look.. anyway .. check out the blogs.. have fun being nosey.
Eddie. xx
This seams .. err seems to be too good, love this stuff, check him out
here.. both these mixes are gorgeous .. fantastic stuff. I hope to hear more.
Seams - Nightcycles (shells remix)
Seams - Nightcycles (d'eon remix)

The Phenomenal Handclap Band - Baby (clock opera remix)
If like me You love the drama.. and the turmoil
of being a transgender, singer and artist nee:
Val Denham; maybe The Tiger lillies (well he is not transgender
but sings in a falsetto voice).. then you may love this.
Baby Dee is touring at the moment.
My old friend Lee Wagstaff from RISE berlin, is promoting
A evening of Musick .at Berghain see flyer above.
I love Baby Dee.. wonderful human being, and great songstress
(btw she hates being called a singer/songwriter).. anyway video and
download below.
Baby Dee - Lilacs.
Just heard the sad news that Mark Linkous, Main man from Sparklehorse,
has killed himself.. now i have love'd this band for a long time..
My first intro was on a wire tapper promo cd 1998 (which is really good ).
And I fell in love with his introspective lyrics, and his beautiful
chords, that still haunt me now. His ability to "make a chord sound like
he had played it three weeks ago, on a long sustain" is a neat trick
that he could play on us. In respect .. I will give you my favourite
Sparklehorse track.
Just heard the news from here. Quite sad, as Guru
is a personal idol to me. read more from Boing Boing.
