Eddie Spex is now on Tumblr.

I am on Tumblr now so have a gander..
It is full of photos I have amassed over the years..
tho still in it's infancy.. have a look, you know
you want to.

check me out here.

OOHHHH GOD! I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND!!
Sorry for the outburst.. but seriously I adore them.
for those who do not know, they are from Argentina..
and are a Kind of an "offshoot" of Farmacia.(WHICH ARE GREAT BTW
AND TOTALLY DIFFERENT TO FOLK.)

I love that FOLK, delve into the messiness that is
"difficult music" but come out unscathed.. I asked them
for an MP3 and they sent me Three! But they have a CDR
out, so I suggest you buy that, and I can give you one track
for free.. (lap it up , you music whores :)
I love the bleakness, which to be honest,
fits well with Argentina at the moment, with
poverty, and a rogue government.. and this track, shouts that!
But still has this defiance, that is the spirit of the people
of Argentina.. I would love to visit one day, I know if I had
the money they could stay at my flat to do a tour of the U.K
ANYTIME :) Well we all dream.

Please, check em out here, they really need to know that you
get what they are doing.. (this is my plea not theirs)I really
get into what they do.. if it is too hard and weird for you..
check out Farmacia here, which is far more respectable,
and electronic pop :)

FOLK - Rocky 2

So to the end of another music legend.. It kinda gets depressing,.. You see, I am
not a huge hip hop fan.. But, Guru, made me listen because, he
spoke about the stupidity, of gang culture and the whole social structure.
Plus, he really got me with the "Jazzmatazz" albums, the first album
is FLAWLESS!! a complete masterpiece! It soo tapped
into the mood of Acid Jazz Label (which i worked for as a graphic designer)..
Ohh heady days, getting drunk with "Mother Earth" (a acid jazz band).. and
seeing "The Sandles" very much live and outta their skulls.. ooh blimey..
and Guru was in that weird mix, of 1970's funk, hippy ethos.. but with an edge.
so in my humble little way.. I say thanks.
so many talented people are dying so young.

This is sad, sad news that Guru has died following his
long battle with cancer.
Read more about this here.
I will be posting some Guru stuff later. R.I.P Guru.

Bungalow records... we thank you.

This is from Bungalow records, the Peter Thomas Orchestra nee Charles wilp, the Bunny remixes
. Fantastic.

Tipsy - 178-79-55-91

Bungalow and Readymade records made some awsome tracks.
From their Berlin origins, they made some amazing, Jap
club pop!! and I mean AMAZING! who would have thought?
Jap.. meets Berlin Loungecore.. still stays with me till
this day. Hoorah for Berlin .. and
Pizzicato Five

Pizzicato Five - Trailer Park music.

I thought I would just pay homage to Bungalow records.

ooh I played this choon to death when it came out!
YES IT IS A BIT CHEESY but! keep listening, it is very subversive..
I adore the sample of the one note.. at the end.
For me, this is a classic track. When I first bought this album..
I had it on my newly bought, Hi -Fi For me it was a big deal..
and very expensive.. I had mini disc, and a great yamaha amp.
Anyway, I was in my flat, and I just got hold of this wonderful C.D,
and I played this song over and over.. and over again..for a whole day.
Then i got a complaint.. not from my house mate.. but from
two old ladies from two streets away!(very, very posh old women)
I must have been playing it loud!
Anyway my point is that, every song has a story.. and that was mine..
loud cheesy pop, in a posh neighbour hood..AND ....
I was busted.!

Eggstone - Taramasalata.

I thought I would just pay homage to Bungalow records.

This is from the second compilation; RO 3003
And this was the first time I met Mr.K,
that has contributed to this blog. He has been
a fundamental input in all music, and it
was "he" that introduced me to "Bungalow"
much respect.. without sounding like a hoodie.
Anyhow.. RO 3003 was suggested by him.. and it is a
fine album.. more so.. the more you listen. Salutations.

Merricks - Schwabing Girls.

I thought I would just pay homage to Bungalow records.
It has been a long time a coming.. they have inspired me beyond
belief! This is a chronological homage.. starting with
the first compilation "suite 98" I m urging you
to buy the compilations.. as they are beyond anything else
I have heard (at the time). One track per compilation.
Shit i want to put on 4 or five tracks per compilation.. BUT
these guys need to sell records.. So if you are a blogger.. promote this.
If you a record buyer, then get out your pennies.. because you will not be
disappointed.
This track, was born out of an album called "the best of Invicta Hi-fi"
which had a track by the lesser known band called Ladytron..
would you figure! Times past, but this track always makes me think of
life before MP3's.

The Maxwell Implosion - Jet Ski

Parvati Khan.

Fantastic "yesteryear hit", that should be for today..
Here in Bristol U.K the sun is shining, and this
is playing loud , with all the windows open.. what a smasher!!
see her here. Ohh and video below as well.. I am soo
good to you, No! seriously, I am :)

Parvati Khan - Jimmy Jimmy Aaja (Disco Dancer 1983)

Nice to see that Crookers have given Yelle

album, "Tons of Friends" Incidentally, Yelle are in the studio at the moment, working on new music!
I for one, cannot wait..It has been a long time a comin'

Crookers featuring Yelle - Cooler Couleur

Nice strange and totally loopy remix of "The Xx's - Infinity"
which really sounds nothing like the original (thank god!!)
got this from here.. really good blog me thinks. Enjoy.

The Xx - Infinity (Marty Party mix)

This is really super, sounds nasty, then sounds like summer..
then wigs out, then sounds nasty all over again :) I love it,
and you should too...
Could be culture Bread's single of the week :)

This must have a film tie in.. could be "DOOM"

what IT HAS TO SAY! Anyway ..
